Following a successful appearance at this year’s Reading & Leeds festivals, opening proceedings on the BBC1/NME stage, Icelandic indie folksters Of Monsters and Men have announced a UK tour for 2013. Their debut album ‘My Head is An Animal‘ received its worldwide release in April, having first been released in September 2011 back in their native Iceland.
Formed in 2010, the band first came to prominence at the annual Iceland Airwaves Festival. Their single “Little Talks” was picked up by a US radio station and through extended airplay gained them growing popularity. They were soon signed to Universal and released an EP “Into The Woods.
They have been compared to Arcade Fire and billed as the new successors to Mumford and Sons. Producing upbeat songs that are guaranteed to put a smile on your face and a spring in your step, they play the HMV Institute in February.
