Single: Peace – California Daze

‘California Daze’ is the long-awaited follow up to Peace’s anthemic breakthrough track ‘Follow Baby’ and it was definitely worth the wait. Taken from forthcoming EP ‘Delicious’, set for release on October 9, this hotly tipped track was described as the next ‘A Certain Romance’ (Arctic Monkeys) by none other than Will from Mystery Jets and we think he could just be right. The simple, yet effective, drum patter mirrors that of The Beatles (which is never a bad thing,) with the emotive “were you born to live or born to die?” sure to echo around your head for the rest of the day.
‘California Daze’ couldn’t be further from the pop haze of ‘Follow Baby’ but when you can churn out a versatile, melodic classic like this, who cares?
