This London-trio of sisters have recently completed a sold-out support tour with Michael Kiwanuka and upon listening to their new EP, The Motherlode, it’s not hard to see why they went down so well.
Their mix of wonderful harmonies and beautiful, bespoke guitars leave them slap bang in the middle of Laura Marling and Bon Iver, which is a very good place to be.
The soothing three track EP includes songs The Motherlode, Pay Us No Mind and Wisely and Slow, each as calm and relaxing as the next, each as wonderful as the next.
Released on April 16, This EP is by no means a completed article, however it is the rough edges that make the sound so charming and warm and basically a pleasure to listen to.
Signed to Atlantic Records the sisters definitely have the financial backing to get far, and based on this EP, they certainly have the songs and the voices too.
They’re at the Glee Club in Birmingham on April 29 and if you like your music to stun you into silence and bring you close to tears then I suggest you get yourself down there sharpish.
